Where would a white collar 57 year old recent divorced male want to look to move. Prefer west side Brecksville and north but not to far north and west. I travel all of eastern ohio so I moved to Fairlawn but would prefer to be closer to Cleveland. I recently moved from Grandview which an upscale Columbus suburb very close to the city, trying to duplicate it near Cleveland

Have you looked at Cleveland Heights or Shaker Heights? Or is that too far north?

I'm focusing on Grandview Hts. proximity to Ohio State and downtown Columbus and walkability.

What was it that you liked about Grandview Hts?

Parts of, say, Chagrin Falls and Twinsburg would be much more walkable than Brecksville.

How about Bratenahl? They have some condos definitely upscale and close to the city with good access to I-90, I-271, I-77, etc.

Grandview Hts has plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, nice bars etc. A lot of them are on Grandview Ave. If you can live fairly close to Grandview Ave, everything is walkable. Pricy though but less pricy a little off the Ave. A lot of older college kids and young professionals in the area.

I want to stay on 77 and west, Brecksville and north. I know Brecksville but after that have very little knowledge of the communities. I want to focus on Independence, Parma, North Royalton, Broadview Hts, Mddleburg Hts, Brook Park.

Well Lakewood is west of 77 and north of Brecksville, has upscale living in fancy apartments overlooking Lake Erie, and is chock full of restaurants, parks , shops and cultural attractions within walking distance. Most are mom/pop too. Those other communities you mentioned I am certain are safe/pleasant, upscale and a little more in the area you are looking. But I don't know that they have a walkable strip comparable to DT Lakewood.

Thanks, as with all things there is give and get. It sounds like I will have to forgo the walkable so hoping to still get feedback on communities within the mentioned towns that would be nice to live in. Lakewood sounds great but way to far north for my territory.

Maybe Hudson? Got the charm factor and not too far north.

Four Seasons in Beachwood is great. New building going up. High end with concierge like services and walkable to shopping, dining.
