Hi all,

Been living in Cleveland for a few years and am now in the market for finding a single family home to rent on the Westside (Western Lakewood, Fairview Park, Rocky River, Eastern Bay Village), but it's proving to be quite difficult to find something. I've been on the hunt for 3 months and it seems very rare that something good pops up. Is no one renting out single families these days?

Tried every avenue I can think of in searching--craigslist, zillow, trulia, hotpads, real estate agents, asking around, and good old driving around the streets--but, haven't found much.

Criteria are pretty open. Just looking for 1000+sq ft in good condition, 2-3 bedroom, and a two car garage would be nice. Main thing would be to have a single family and some privacy. Have a budget of up to $1300+utilities.

Anyone have any ideas?

There is a huge demand for single fam rentals right now. I work for a company that is fixing up houses to sell or rent, and we can't keep up with the demand. We have waiting lists for houses that we haven't even started repairing. My advice would be to contact an agent.

Western Suburbs are hard to find rentals in. It doesn't help that most owners buy single family homes in these areas to live in themselves. When there are rentals, they often are $1,700+ (not incl Lakewood). I have a friend that owns a tiny 2 bed, 1,000 sq ft bungalow in Bay Village that he rents for $1,100. As soon as he puts it up for rent he gets dozens of calls within a day or two.
