If you have any knowledge of nice over 55 condominium developments with amenities in coastal NC, please offer suggestions, locations. Within 1/2 hr. of Wilmington.

Would prefer a dev. that doesn't allow short term rentals.

Winding river plantation in Bolivia has very nice condo`s, with a beach house on Holden beach. Condo`s run about 140k. Lived there a short time. They are very nice, also have a lockout room, that you could rent, or have for company. There is also security driving around, we always felt very safe.
Not over 55, but most who live there are

St. James Plantation, near Southport, has condos. Again, not an over 55 development, but almost everyone is.

Del Webb has a 55+ community inside River Lights, in Wilmington. Not sure if they have condos:

There is also a nice condo complex called The Preserve at Oak Island in Southport. It's web site is here: https://www.thepreserveoki.com/community.html

It is not restricted to age 55+, but you can see frome the pictures that many folks are. It seems to have a community spirit. The 2 bedroom uints are in the low $200K range, and there are also 1 and 3 bedroom units. There is underground parking. Look for listings at 2100, 3100 and 4100 Marsh Grove Road, Southport, NC.

Since the OP has a limited budget, I think she is better off looking in Wilmington for place that will not have temporary renters. The golf plantations tend to have short-term renters.

A place like this on the first floor of a complex would work for someone who does not want to climb stairs. It is close to conveniences off Carolina Beach Road and has a community pool. It is not age restricted, but there are likely a few older folks living there. Just an example of something to think about: https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...-37974?view=qv

Love it, could even go a bit higher, thanks GA. I should take a jaunt over there and do some looking around. Definitely want a place that is well managed.
