The wife wants to move the furniture from VA to our home at WRP. She has received a quotation from the local United Van Lines company in VA to do the move (they seem to have the most competitive price}. The United Van Lines' rep visited the house to give her an estimate. She also phoned Premium Moving of Oak Island for an estimate and they are competitive and will run a truck to VA to pick up our load. She is basing the quotations on the weight provided by United. We are packing most of the items ourselves.

When I did corporate moves, the employer always dealt with the mover from the origin point. Do any of you have any thoughts about moving and using a destination mover to make the move? Premium does seem have a good reputation with the BBB.

I have not used Premium but I have heard positive feedback at least 3 or 4 different times from assorted people in the local area.

One thing I learned from the one and only time we hired movers is...check how items are insured. During our move, they broke an item that was worth hundreds of dollars, but insurance paid out $20 because insurance coverage was by weight, so if you have valuables, take that into consideration

We recently used Premium for a local move, Omni Storage to WRP. They were excellent.
