Hubby and I are arriving in Wilmington, NC today. I'm having a hard time finding anyone to show us houses for rent. When, I tell them we will be moving in the fall- they don't want to help us!
We would like to be within 15-20 minutes of the beach. We are open to a gated community or any nice, safe neighborhood.
We are retired and coming from NJ...and want to start exploring the areas- to find the right fit.
Anyone have any ideas of how to get help with these realtors?
Thank you so much for your time and help!
Rental commissions are too small for most realtors to bother with them. Contact the property management divisions of some of the larger real estate companies and see if they have anything. Also, check Craigslist and Realtor.com.
Unfortunately, if you are planning on moving in the fall, a lot of property owners and managers aren't going to want to hold their rentals for you that long. It certainly isn't a bad idea to be looking to get an idea of what rentals cost, what areas you're interested in, etc. Maybe it would be a good idea to talk to a real estate agent.
I asked my Wife, A Realtor in Wilmington if she could assist you and she told me her broker does not even help with rentals, they refer them out! Sorry, I tried.
