I'm going to be taking my son to a weeklong soccer/sports camp at a place called Off the Wall LLC (203 Antilles Ct, Wilmington, NC) from 17 to 21 July. I know nothing of the city/area, but it looks like the complex isn't really close to any hotels. I was hoping for some suggestions from any locals on a good place to stay.
My son is 7 and it will be just the two of us. This is a bit of a vacation for me as well, so while he is at camp each day (8:30 - 4:30) I'd like to stay busy. I want to get some good runs in, so being close to good running paths/trails would be nice. Hoping to stay in the $100-$120 range for hotel/motel (per night).
There are several cheaper hotels along Market Street between College Road and downtown, but you do not want to stay in them. Conversely, anything closer to the beach will be more expensive.
You might also want to check VRBO.com and see if you can find anything on there.
