Hi,

We are considering relocating to The Bluffs at Cape Fear and using Southern Pines Homes as a builder. Does anyone have experience with this home builder? Also, any thoughts on The Bluffs at Cape Fear would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Kevin

When we looked at The Bluffs 15 years ago, it was in the middle of nowhere. Leland has spread out since then, and the completion of I-140 has made it easier to get to Wilmington. However, it is still at least 5 miles to the grocery store. If you like uncrowded locations, go ahead. Personally, I would prefer River Bluffs or Riverlights.

No comment on the builder.

The builder's sample home on the developer website looks very nice. I liked the wide front porch. I would ask for references from their past clients.

It would also help readers of this forum if you post further information about costs for building.

A friend just had a quote of about $275 per square foot to built a 2400 SF house in Southern Brunswick. They decided they could not afford to build. They are in a quandary about what else they can do. They may wait to see if material prices go down any.
