My parents had these printed up in G Fox department store in Hartford CT in the 50s. An interestingpoint is that the printed return address is "Wethersfield, 9 Connecticut" and I recall addressing envelopes that way too. (back when our phone number started "Jackson 9" too.)
I was wondering if these had any collectible value or might I simply go ahead and address/send them to my brothers and sisters as holiday cards. I wonder if my writing on them will probably negate any value for them. OTOH, I have only 6 of them and I certainly am not going to retire on them. (-:
I would include pics of them but the %^$# paint program would not let me block out the family names and address.
I'd send them to your siblings - they'd most likely get a kick out of them. There is lots of ephemera in the marketplace and value is pretty low for most of it - 50's Christmas cards sell on Ebay for around $3 a card. And those are without family names/addresses. You'd be better off to keep them in the family.
Actually, I was hoping that someone would offer $100 each for them. (-:
I can dream can't I?
I had thought about sending them to family but I have a difficult time actually addressing the envelopes. I could place them in larger envelopes but somehow that takes out some of the poetry...
Like someone else already said, there is a lot of ephemera in the marketplace and not a large following.
