I'm starting to doubt what I want to do. Initially I wanted to do CUNY's interdisciplinary studies program in "child & adolescent psychology" and "child & family welfare," but now im thinking I should do a double major in psychology and social work. No matter which route I take im going to go to graduate school to get a master's in social work.
The pro to the interdisciplinary studies program is that I could take a wider range of courses from all the CUNY schools tailored to what exactly I want to do, which I wouldn't be able to do with a double major.
I have an interdisciplinary studies degree with a minor in psychology. I am certified to teach all subjects grades 1 thru 8. I also have a middle school specialist certification. While I am certified, I am not "highly qualified" because I haven't taken all those expensive Praxis test. Maybe they will throw out NCLB and that highly qualified crap and I can teach anything I am certified for.
