5yrs for pharmD, if all prerequisites are done. In WA they only have phd of pharmacy now (pharmD), includes internships. But you graduate w job security and $40/hr min.

Little bit less these days. I have a family friend that teaches in a top 30 program. He said five years ago people would have multiple job offers and now some of the people at the bottom of the class are landing only part time jobs. Which of course at that rate of pay isn't bad and likely leads to a full time job eventually.

I am a licensed tech, I'm well aware of the national pharmacist shortage & that it took our local hospital 7mo to find a replacement director & almost a year to fill to Rph spots. also know many pharmacists that were head hunted, there is a shortage.

I would strongly recommend that you visit the Walgreen's website:

Walgreens Careers - Students and Recent Grad Opportunities at Walgreens

It gives you a pretty good idea of what it takes to be a pharmacist and some of the opportunities that the large retail pharmacies offer.

By the way, nearly ANY pharmacy school website will give you this information. For example:

College of Pharmacy | Ohio Northern University

Pharmacy - PharmD | University of the Sciences

If you can't figure the answer out without being told, you are not even close to being ready for the classes to become a pharmacist. For many people, they don't have the pre-requisite math and science background, believe me, if you did not take Chemistry, and College Algebra, and pass both those classes with an A, you probably won't make it.
