Usually public educational institutions have lower tuitions than that of private institutions, especially for transfer students. I would like to know what some of the best schools are in the following states for one who wishes to pursue a career within radio:
-NJ
-NY
-CT
-RI
-MA

In NY, Syracuse, SUNY-Oswego, Ithaca College and perhaps SUNY-Oneonta.

Why does it have to be public?

But private schools sometimes end up cheaper after financial aid.

I can't think of any PUBLIC schools, but I heard Syracuse and Boston University are great places for that field.

They're lower if you are a resident, but really private schools may give you very good merit aid if you are a good student. I would look for the program as well as the cost and research the merit aid normally given. State schools often don't give much aid at all to transfer students from out of state and their costs can be just as high as a private.

Yeah that's why I put SU.

I have a few friends attending there and they had nearly 70% of their tuition taken care of.
