This may seem like a weird question but I'm going to ask anyway.

I am graduating with my Masters in Social Work soon and am wondering what is a good present that I can buy for myself as memorabilia for the occasion?

I have a college ring for my Bachelors degree from years ago but what is a person supposed to get for themselves for completing a Masters? I wanted something I can have for years for a keepsake.

I will probably go on a trip somewhere to celebrate finishing and I know my mom or someone will get me a great pen set but what else is there?

Or do people not normally buy something for themselves for that degree?

I would think the diploma to be a great keepsake, no?

I never knew anyone to buy themselves presents for finishing a degree.
That is usually done FOR you, not BY you.

But, hey... if that is what you want to do, only YOU know what you would want!

How about a job?

OK, honestly, I've never heard of anyone doing this, either.

I did have my diplomas framed in matching frames and put them in my office, where I see them every day. It's a cool memento.

When my husband and his friends graduated from law school they purchased nice briefcases for themselves.

Many people just purchase nice diploma frames.

Well a ring is a keepsake imo.

Yes the degree is a keepsake and is a reward within itself. I'll do matching frames when I get it. Lol.... My other degree is in a box somewhere. I am required to post this one when I finish and actually I have a full time job and go to school between the 2 I am busy 6 days a week.

Other than a ring or a nicely framed diploma, I've never heard of any buying themselves a keepsake for graduation.

My friends bought me a copy of Dr. Seuss' "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" in celebration of my undergraduate studies. That is probably my favorite of all the gifts I got

For recently having completed my graduate studies, I celebrated by throwing myself a big-ass barbecue in our backyard. Seeing our kids run around being kids with neighbors and friends, it was worth every single penny.

What about a cruise? Buy yourself a good time to reward yourself for all your hard work. Then come back renewed and refreshed and find a real job.
