Both of my current college students are getting $10./hr for their internships. The pay is better than on campus employment, but doesn't have the same perks, such as free meals by working in the dining halls. Speaking of which, is that a really awful job? They are always hiring.
My son earns $10 an hour for an on campus job and (I think) $15 for a part time job with a company that he did a full time internship with this summer. He works five hours a week for the college and ten hours a week for the company, which is probably as much as he can handle and do well in school.
In business school I was a graduate assistant in the finance department, which meant some light grading, but mostly helping out with the professor's research. That paid about $13.50/hr but was super easy work.
In grad school I was a teaching assistant in the computer science department. That involved leading recitations and a lot of office hours and grading. I think that paid about $14 or $15 but was also pretty easy.
My college used to pay minimum wage (or just above) for TA jobs such as Spanish tutor.
