I graduated in May '13 with a double BA in Poly Sci and Environmental Studies. My GPA was a 3.62. I went to a private school and am now $49,000 in debt. The plan was to go to law school but that would have meant even more money that I would have owed. So I decided to cut borrowing right there. This past year I have no clue of what I'm doing. Is there anyone who has been in a position like this? I'm thinking of enlisting to get the debt forgiven and try to start over, when I get out.

Is there something you have an interest in like conservation, research, farming, etc. where you could use the environmental studies degree? Or are you more interested in something using the poly sci degree? Maybe the career counseling center in your college could help you better define your interests. If you like poly sci you might be better off getting a master's degree. Look for government jobs in this area.
I was an idiot, I really should have done something with a more technical background. I'm taking science basics at a community college for now. I was interested in regulation and working with one of the state regulatory agencies. I've had interviews at several but they've told me the market is so bad,not to mention with all the vets coming back, most of the government jobs are being filled with vets and retired engineers who are needing a second career.
First you need to cut the hyperbole - because thinking that way leads to feeling that way, and that's a recipe for unhappiness.
Your life isn't a wreck. You simply have debt. Once you get a job you'll start paying it off. In short calm down and be logical, then you can act rationally.
