Neither Eisenhower (USMC) or Carter (USNA) had a selected major area of study as the service academies did not operate with "majors" at the time they attended.

Truman did graduate from a college or university.

Hoover was an engineer.

Carter got a degree later in nuclear engineering. I was lead to believe that service academy graduates are generally trained to be engineers.

LBJ got a degree in teaching from then Southwest Texas State and now known as Texas State University.
