I'm in a bit of a dilemma..... I decided to go to back to uni, and there are 2 surveying courses which I have been eyeing. One of those offers mid year intake, but the other one is much more comprehensive and I feel I'll get more out of it, and have a better chance of employment upon graduation, but I'll have to wait until the end of the year to apply. I have until tomorrow to make up my mind. I'm bored, without anything to do except a part time job, and waiting another half year feels like a veeery long time....

I'm confused by your language. If you're not graduating right now, don't you have other classes to take just the same? Or is this just a matter of taking a summer class? If you don't have to, I wouldn't.

I would wait for the course that you feel you will get more out off. Yes, it will be difficult to wait it out, but imagine having to sit through a course that you feel is sub-par...
Sitting through a course that I don't respect would drive me far battier than being bored and waiting for a few months; it's annoying to wait, but at least you have something to look forward to at the end of your wait (I am assuming that you can definitely get in to the course that you would be waiting for.)
But that's my personality. My personal philosophy has always been to avoid instant gratification and to hold out for what I want or need. Just my two cents... it really depends on what works for you.
