Things for kids to do in Colorado Springs (Center, Dinosaur: coupons, amusement park)

I've been researching other posts that people have made regarding things to do with kids on a trip to the Springs. My son has cerebral palsy and his left leg gets very tired easily so a lot of the longer walking things are out.
We are coming up Labor Day weekend. We already have hotel reserved. We will be there 3 days and 2 nights.
We would like to sprinkle activities in between checking out various neighborhoods. The main purpose is for me to get a sense of neighborhoods.

My son is 7 and we also have a 10 year old daughter. Our son loves science, robots, mini golf (where he can sit down between holes), any kind of carnival rides, and video games. My daughter is easy going and just wants to check out the local dance studios as she's is very involved in ballet.

I'd like to find some fun places to take them to dinner also. I know driving around will be boring for them so I want to break it up with some fun things.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For the video game interest - the Manitou Penny Arcade is kind of neat - there is one room that is old games from the early 20th century that cost a penny or nickel or dime to play, and then there are a whole bunch of more modern games covering a range of eras but nothing super modern. We do have several mini golf courses in town - my favorite is Hitt's around Academy and Union but it is nothing special - it is $2/18 holes. In the Citadel Mall there's a mini golf course that is glow in the dark/black light - it costs considerably more but I can't remember how much- I think more in the range of the price of a movie ticket - there are some pretty fancy games they rotate in there, too - last time I was there they had this big game that was like those spy movies where you can see the red laser lights showing where alarm system sensors are and you have to navigate your way through the course without setting off an alarm. Those cost additional and I don't know for sure what they have there now. That course is right next to the Pet City and we always like to visit the pet dogs, etc., when we go there, too.

He might also like a trip to the Space Foundation or the Mining Museum.

I think Fargo's Pizza is a great place to take them for dinner - there is an arcade in there, too, btw. There's no other place like it, that's for sure.

We have only lived here for 6 weeks, but I have been researching things to do with the kids.

Many of the places on my list are places where kids would be running/climbing/jumping a lot (like Jump-N-Jacks, Sky Zone, and House of Bounce), but "It'Z Family Food and Fun" seems like it might fit your requirements. We also want to try the Penny Arcade, the Space Foundation Discovery Center, and the Dinosaur Resource Center. We have driven by Legends Mini Golf Course a lot of times and my kids are begging to check it out sometime soon. It looks great! The movie theaters here (that we have been to, on the more north half of town) are so nice and you might like checking them out if there's a movie your kids would like to see.

I am sure there is so much more that I haven't come across yet, but those are the things on my list currently!

Haven't read the other answers so I'm sorry if someone has already suggested this: Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is interesting and entertaining. While it's against a mountainside, they do have little open air trolleys to take folks that can't walk easily up and down and all around the exhibits. Your kids might really enjoy that. My sis has MS and she was able to enjoy herself by taking the trolley: CMZoo | Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

The arcade in Manitou is a blast (from the past). Seven Falls offers an elevator right up to a viewing point.

Keep in mind that a lot of area attractions offer coupons on their websites to save you a few dollars.

Santa's North Pole Workshop is a little amusement park just outside of town on Hwy 24. It's a little cheesy, but lots of fun and not too expensive. Your kids are in just the right age range to really enjoy it, I think.

May Natural History museum for a wide assortment of bugs and other crawly things. They also have a Space Museum. Walking either of these is easy to do.

Not sure if they are old enough but for thrill rides there is the Terror-dactyl ride at Cave of the Winds. Basically a seat that throws you out over Williams Canyon and then reels you back in. Walking in the cave is easily accomplished with a multitude of hand rails if you choose to avoid the ride.

Your kids would almost certainly get a kick out of the Airplane Restaurant. You can actually sit inside an old KC-97.

And, I fully agree with otowi. The kids will enjoy Fargo's pizza.

I have one more to add - Garden of the Gods scenic loop (no walking necessary - unless you want to get out of your car and hike around a bit). And while you're at Garden of the Gods, stop in at the Visitors Center at the entrance to the park (new dinosaur exhibit on the lower level) and don't miss the historic and very kitschy Trading Post inside the park. All three things are lots of fun for kids and adults.

I have relatives in Colorado Springs. They love Fargo's Pizza! I agree that the arcade in Manitou is fun and I have friends who have enjoyed the North Pole amusement park.
