I am looking for anyone who has had relatives or have relatives that have lived in the Falcon area since the late 1800s or early 1900s. I need personal stories and pictures of the area. In particular interest is either of the hotels, any businesses, or a picture of the Denver and New Orleans station.

email my mother at [mod cut] I know she has pictures from the early 1940's and of the pool hall so she might have more info than you would like - or look in the phone book and call any of the Solberg 's - they have been in the Falcon area 4 or 5 generations also.

Would you mind posting anything you get? I'm new to Falcon and would love to see what it was like at different points in the past.

I have spoken to Louise but as of late have not been able to contact her. If you know Bob Deck, Allstate Insurance, he will get us connected. I am planning on several formal presentations this year about the history here and a book is coming out to help raise money for an Eastern Plains Historical Society. This society's goal will be the preservation of history in all these small towns out here and the ghost towns that are no more. The preservation of pictures, artifacts, and most important...stories. This year, 2008, is the town's 120th anniversary. A celebration is in the works. Thanks for your interest.

Let us know when the book comes out and how we can get one. I'd love to have something like that. My mother has stuff like that about the town she grew up. It's full of great references to my family. While a Falcon book won't have anything about my family in it, I would still love to read about the area where I live.
