Hi, my husband and I are looking for a place to go ski and spend Christmas in Colorado this year. We are looking for some place surrounded by mountains and a town that just has a lot of Christmas spirit. As I am not a huge skier like he is, I would like a town that offers more to do than just ski. Since I am just starting to look into this trip, I am open to any and all suggestions. Thank you

Steamboat is pretty "spirited" as well.

Most ski towns will be decorated up for Christmas. Steamboat, Breckenridge, Aspen, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Telluride, and Vail will be the places closest to the slopes that are real towns. For the most part, every ski resort will have its own village at the base, but the above are real towns. Places Like Avon, Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco, Pagos Springs, Buena Vista, Glenwood Springs, and others are near ski mountains and add to the local area for other activities.

Aspen and Telluride may be the ultimate experiences. Aspen and Vail tend to have the most international feel to them. The Summit County area is very popular with people from the Front Range for its multiple resorts and multiple towns. But it is rather spread out and will require a bit of driving to get around it all.
