State reports on 5pts upcoming urban style waffle house
also Petal, a Charlotte Boutique is moving into the vacated Sid & nancy
spot next to the greek store on Saluda (Sid & Nancy moved a few doors
down into the vacated Blue Sky Gallery).

I honestly think now it's only a matter of time before gentleman's closet
and the toy store close up shop and are replaced by dress stores as well, and that would be a great thing. Undergrad demographics have been becoming more and more female in the last 5 years and the trend is set to continue also, small dress stores need to be next to other dress stores to create a shopping district otherwise women will feel their time is better spent in the mall for the selection. Also it could become another aspect 5pts is known for the Women's dress Row on Saluda.

Yeah.. I know folks on here are not fans of the infamous The State Comments Section.. but I get a kick out of peoples fears of gangs and thuggery running rampant in 5 pts. I dont doubt that thugs DO go to five points but I dont think that it is rampant otherwise these stores and businesses would not be investing. That being said.. do I think that the Waffle House will hire an off duty CPD Officer to sit in the lobby on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer??? Absolutely... why take chances....

They probably will have an off duty cop sit in the lobby on those nights. They have one in Clemson where they have almost zero gang incidents. Those nights Waffle Houses can get rowdy pretty quickly but most of the different kinds of people do get along well.
