There was an interesting statistic that I ran across a few years ago about various cities daytime populations (I think it had to do with those people working in the CBD). For cities in the Carolinas, Charlotte obviously had the highest daytime population by a good measure (I want to say that it was in the 120K range) but Columbia was #2 at a figure that I believe was in the high 70K range. Raleigh #3 a few thousand below Columbia (but to be fair, though, many RDU jobs are outside of the CBD and in the Research Triangle Park). I think Greensboro was #4.
I think it hafs to be $15 an hour minimum now to get that label.
Where is that information? Is that something that can be confirmed. So many job announcements seem to be for low skill/low wage jobs. While $15 isn't great, it is better than a lot have been.
I saw in The Post and Courier that Blue Cross Blue Shield is investing $60 million and hiring 700. These are insurance technology jobs.
The State finally got around to reporting this 13 days after the P&C, but in its defense it was after a renegotiation of a tax breaks agreement with the county, upon which the creation of the new jobs was dependent, was finalized.
