My husband and I have possible relocation orders from ft. Knox KY to fort jackson S.C.. I was hoping to find out some information before we make our final decision. How are the house and schools. I have one in 2nd grade and we need at least a 4 bedroom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Housing market is stable. Our median price was 145k on the dot for both 07/08 and that will get you 4 BR in the Richland 2 school district. I suspect this year the foreclosures will drive that down a tick this year but the market is very stable and has been moving.

Most Ft. Jackson relos with children opt for Richland 2 which is an excellent district, particularly the Blythewood schools. That will give you about a 15 minute commute.

If you need to get enrolled in the USAA Movers Adv. program that gets you a cash back rebate at closing PM/ email me and I'll send you the details.

You may also want to Google REMAP. It's the real estate military advantage program, and it too will give you money back at closing. Take a look around in the Northeast area at communities. Southeast is also close to the fort. Lake Carolina, Brookhaven, Heather Green, Alexander Point, just to name a few. A.P is in Southeast, the others are in the Northeast.
