We just moved to Lexington and our kids are starting high school and literally know nobody. I would really like them to meet some other teens going to Lexington High before school starts. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What do they like to do or what was there former social scene from before? Coming from someone who graduated the other year the best way to me the people is generally school and then it takes off from there.
My daughter is super shy so starting as a freshman not knowing anyone is very intimidating to her. Our "old" neighborhood had tons of teens but we are having a home built and won't be in a community for a few months. She was in cheer and gymnastics and my son football.
I have found that teens really don't hang out anymore. They socialize via media and really only hang out at friends houses. My suggestion is to find a church with a very active youth ministry. Get involved and get the kids involved.
My first thought was a skating rink. I hung out at one as a teen and now my kids are doing the same thing! Frankies Fun Park usually has a lot of teens hanging, playing games and eating at the concessions. But that's in Irmo by the mall so it might be too far to mention, actually.
Church is a great option if you are inclined to go. There are great youth groups out there. Lexington Baptist on Main St, First Baptist Church of Lexington on Barr Rd, Radius, Calvary Chapel (also on Barr Rd) all good places. There are more but these are ones I know are good
