Just wondering if anyone has recently bought a new home from sovereign. We are looking into getting a new build home in London and just wanted to know if they build good homes. We are looking at homes under 200k, and liked some of their models. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I am not sure about this, but maybe others can help. I know London is a very nice little growing town though. Not far from Columbus, and a short drive to Cincinnati.

As a realtor, I've not heard any negatives regarding Sovereign homes.... general advice would be to be careful with lot selection and think of future resale... builder reps frequently focus on the immediate sale and don't offer advice looking at appreciation and resale.

AGREED: Get a broker!!! It doesn't cost you a dime to use a broker, you need the insider local advice , and if the builder rep tells you they can't commission your broker "because you've already registered with the builder directly" tell them you're simply not going to buy with the builder (trust me it'll totally work in this market).

Builders like to cut out the broker by offering buyers stupid things like "an ice maker" in return for not using a buyer broker... BEWARE of this as Columbus is a transient town. Transient towns have lower standards with building codes, and Columbus is full of builders who get away with selling substandard lots and substandard new construction to unsuspecting newcomers. The Columbus market is also very quirky about things that affect resale value like "lot selection" as the other poster mentions. Would you buy an unsellable house back for an icemaker???
