We are relocating to Columbus. We are looking for a great high school and middle school. We drove to Columbus on Sunday, but got caught in "IKE" and had to return home because of a work issue with "IKE" from where we live.

We stopped in the mall (The new job will be right by Polaris)and then drove north on a very busy road...it was 2 lanes and for a Sunday afternoon, the traffic was unbelievable! We don't want to have to drive that every day!

We did see very nice neighborhoods, but we need to go again and have some direction.

Which town would be closest to Polaris? We are thinking Powell, Dublin or New Albany? We need a neighborhood pool for the summer. We were looking at Muirfield Village.

Can anyone give me any insight?

Powell, Worthington and Lewis Center are closest areas to the Polaris area.

Regarding neighborhood pools, I'm only familiar with Worthington, which has a large outdoor neighborhood pool just east of Olentangy River Rd, and an indoor pool at the very extensive Worthington Rec Center, on the east side of High St.

Hi, I posted on your other thread just talking about Dublin.

When you say "right by Polaris," do you mean east of Polaris or west of Polaris? Polaris Parkway, in my opinion, is extremely congested traffic-wise. But if your job is closer to route 23, then Powell would be the closest. Actually Lewis Center would be the closest. Dublin would be a tad farther than Powell, but I'm not sure if there are pools and such in Powell. If there aren't any now, I'm sure very soon there will be because Powell is growing very fast. It's very nice in Powell and in Dublin. Lewis Center is nice also. For both Powell and the northern part of Dublin you would not have to get on the highway (71 or 270) which can be a plus for some people who hate highways. BUT route 750 (polaris parkway) is pretty congested and slow during rush hour.

New Albany is very nice but you'd have to take the highway. I think that while New Albany is nice, some of the surrounding areas are not very nice in my opinion. You'd have less of that in Dublin, Powell, or Lewis Center.

The traffic in Dublin, Powell, and New Albany is congested. Lewis Center is not as congested in my opinion. Lewis Center, like the other person posted, would probably be the closest to Polaris but again I don't know about pools there. I don't think that Lewis Center, on the whole, is as "upscale" as Powell or Dublin (in general, there are nicer parts and just ok parts in all three). You should also know that Powell and Lewis Center are in the same school district (Olentangy Local) (although there are parts of Powell that are in Dublin Schools).

New Albany is on the northeast side of the greater Cols area, while all the others are on the northwest side of Cols. Although the northeast side is a pretty nice area, the northwest side of town is generally considered nicer than the northeast.

Muirfield is really nice and has 2 neighborhood pools
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I think that from what I have read, we will try for Dublin. It seems to have it all...pools, walking trails, good schools. We will be working right by Polaris Mall. We would like something within 15 minutes from the mall. We like to be able to go home for lunch...if possible. Thanks again.
