Can someone give me some input as to where to rent?

I want to be as close to OSU as possible, but wont rule out Gateway or Short North areas(or even downtown but thats kind of far). I need a 2BR/2BA apt, and would like it to be as upscale as possible yet still reasonably priced (max rent 1200), on the newer side, updated kitchen, maybe a secure parking garage, etc. Is there any such thing? If you can give me actual links or building names, that would be great. Thanks.

PS I used to live in the warehouse district in Cleveland for anyone familiar so are there buildings like that around here? (lofts, etc). I DO NOT want an old house.

Have you considered the Brewery District?

The Jeffery in the short North, Italian Village is home to a lot of upscale apartment buildings these days.
CITYSPACE: THE JEFFREY (http://www.cityspaceresidential.com/thejeffrey.asp - broken link) Here is the LINK to the Jeffrey Apartment building. It is a warehouse space that has been converted to rental lofts.

For those who do not know, Italian Village is the neighborhood east of High St., in the Short North. You are near OSU and will be within walking distance of High St.

Grandview is close to OSU and downtown. You will be able to find a newer rental in your price point there.

This poster asked for buildings with lofts, not an old home.

Grandview has some apartment buildings, but this poster sounds like a urban living expert.

She would love to live somewhere on High St. There are MANY apartment buildings starting at the Gateway and going all the way through downtown Columbus. Many buildings are brand new renovations, lofts, or condos for lease.

Seriously, before you move to Grandview look into the buildings on High St. and in the adjacent neighborhoods. My Jeffery recommendation should be one of your first looks.

Now not to beat anyone up. Grandview is a nice area, but these days there are many areas with a larger diversity of housing options that are fixed up and decently safe closer to downtown, Ohio State, and in the Short North.
