Hi,

We will be moving from NY(work)/Jersey city(residence) to Columbus OH. My spouse has got a job in Raymond, OH. I might also get a transfer to Stelzer Road (near Easton town Center). Unfortunately I cannot drive and would like to stay as close as possible to my workplace (Easton). So we have decided to stay in Columbus and my spouse will drive to work. no kids and hence no school consideration.

We have always lived in NJ/NY and spoilt by its transportation. I am really scared to move

i. Is there anyone living near Easton or Gahanna?

We are looking for absolutely SAFE neighborhood (of late, reading reviews on apartmentratings.com .. confused totally)

I want specific apartments where any of you are living... clean, good amenities/maintenance with moderate rent for 2BR. also, we are south asians and hence tolerance in neighborhood will be good.

ii. If the apartment is on a bus route, it will be great. How frequent are COTA/other buses?

iii. We would like to buy a used car (compact or mid-size) there? Any useful suggestions....

If we could provide few specific apartment names (SAFE ones), that will be helpful. What do you think Gahanna?

Wow, having been raised in Marysville I will let you know that driving from Gahanna to Raymond everyday will be a bit of a chore for your wife.

Explaining the circumstances a little bit better might be more helpful to those you are asking to give advice.

If you could live in Worthington, Westerville, or Upper Arlington and take COTA it would be much easier on your wife.

I am the wife!! :-) Sorry about the confusion, I just said spouse. My husband will have to drive from Gahanna to Raymond.. I understand that it is going to be difficult for him..
We were thinking of Dublin, but when I check on COTA , it says I would take 1.30 hrs to reach Stelzer Road.

Are there COTA buses from Worthington, Westerville, or Upper Arlington to Stelzer Road ? I am willing to travel on the buses for 30-45 minutes.
Which is better of these three.

Thanks for warning. Just for my understanding, what exactly is the problem? SAFETY?

Easton isn't a bad area at all its growing it just depends on what part. You may also want to look further up on Morse Road towards Gahanna another nice and Rapidly growing area

Poor design
Poor management
vandalism and misc. mischief (lots of car break ins)
safety
nothing else around
crime
poor transportation options
transient neighbors

Ah, okay, sorry about that. I figured from Dublin it would take a while (that's why I didn't mention Dublin).

I'm not personally familiar with COTA's routes so you may want to call them and ask them. I know that COTA runs more in Worthington and Westerville than they do in Dublin. Worthington may be your best bet.
