We have a new version -- Windows RT (besides Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro).

How would you have 1 version that covers two architectures with two different business models?

XP did it right with Home and Pro.

7 ended up pretty much the same as Starter and Ultimate are almost non-existent in the marketplace.

From that categorization, Windows 8 only has two as well. When you take other architectures into consideration, both 8 and XP have more than 2.
