Looking for recommendations for voice activated typing software for personal and home business use. Have tried Naturally Speaking by Dragon 9.5 but it seems to work badly with Vista and also Dragon won't provide support for this older version. Planning to get a new laptop--probably with Windows 7.

I'd wait and try DNS with Win7 and see how it works before spending a bunch of money. Alternately, buy a newer version of DNS.

Can't beat the price here:

Search Results for “voice recognition”: SourceForge

Search Results for “speech”: SourceForge

Worth a shot...

android has a very good built in speech recog. you don't even have to train it and it works flawlessly. i actually 'talk' rather than type when texting. i hope future touchscreen pcs/tablets has keyboard with mic icon like android phones. it means you can 'talk' rather than type when using word processors or even searching online.

i would suggest buying a dictation software.. it probably will recognize better. windows has built in speech recog but even after 'training' it. it still failzz worst than apple's auto correct failz in recognizing the words u say. wat the F.
