Yeah, on some of my laptops I want them to run Win 8.1 Pro and not upgrade to Win 10... Whaddaya do? Do we have to resort to a pirated Win 8.1 Pro that doesn't update?
Change your Windows update settings to manual update only, so you have more control.
Then use "GWX Control Panel" to monitor for Win10 files.
Or switch to a Mac and/or Linux, which is what I did.
I liked Win7 and Microsoft Office. I was okay with Win 8.1.
I like Microsoft products. I think they're some of the best tools around.
But I don't "need" them for personal use.
I've held off of Windows 10 (Windows 7 Pro in current use) except for an HP laptop and my Surface Pro 2. In my experience I have had no compatibility issues with Win 10 and the software I use, which was the main reason to hold off for so long on upgrading. I just upgraded my home desktop to Win 10 from Win 7, and will be getting a new server for my business and upgrading the desktops to Win 10. I disliked Win 8, so when I first went to Win 10 it was refreshing.
Yes Microsoft has been WAY over aggressive in their deployment of Windows 10. It really has felt invasive, and that's where I have issue. As far as the operating system goes, I find it equal to if not better than Windows 7 in my experience.
