I have a one year old Dell with Windows 10 that I bought from Best Buy. It came with Kaspersky internet security, which I like. I received an e-mail from Best Buy/Geek Squad which states (copying & pasting):
Your Internet Security Software is about to expire but we have discontinued selling Kaspersky products and can no longer renew your subscription.
You can switch to either Trend Micro™ or Webroot® by following the link below.

I had Trent Micro with my previous computer but like Kaspersky better and think it would be more streamlined just to keep it. I read somewhere about "buying a license" or having to purchase Kaspersky on Amazon or such. Couldn't I just go to a Kaspersky web site and click renew?
Just google it and buy it online. Amazon or similar will have it for a better price than the directly with the company. While you are it, you can update the version of the product, not just renew the license.
Here's the rundown on Amazon. I don't see the disc for PC, only Mac. You can however get a PC Key card for a little less than download. Don't know exactly why but that's the case with other products (like MS Office) as well.
I would highly suggest renewing Kaspersky over going with either of the others you mentioned. I would uninstall the version you have, install the one I linked to and pay through the app, you will also be able to renew from within the app, takes out the middle man.
I had Kaspersky but found it to be a resource hog. It also missed a virus that incapacitated my computer. I've also tried Norton, McAfee, BitDefender and several other paid security softwares and didnt care for any of them. (Norton and McAfee also missed viruses and BitDefender made my computer run so slowly I couldnt stand it for more than 3 days.) Then I tried Webroot. I've been using it for a number of years now and really like both its small footprint and the way it protects my computer.
