Is anybody getting or plan on getting any of the new macbooks. If so tell me what do you like and think about it and tell me your dislikes. If you are not tell me why you are not getting it and name at least 2 things you like about it.
I've ~2 yo MacBook - love it. Fast, light, friendly/easy to use. Have MS Office installed so can do vast majority of work stuff on the Mac OS side. Will acquire another one, probably later next year, after the new models have been tweaked some more - and then it will also be a refurbed, lower cost yet same if not better quality [refurbs are 100% inspected, vs. new ones are spot/random checked]. That's my preference.
I refuse to pay a premium on hardware that's no better than Windows based laptops.
Windows based laptops with similar specs as a Macbook are also similar in price; a few brands are even more expensive. The 'Mac tax' is a myth.
I do not plan on buying a Macbook mainly because I am just not that into laptops; although I am really digging on the option for a solid state drive on the new Macbooks. I am saving my money for the next release of the iMac.
I don't like OS X. I've been in it a few times, I've even done minor internal maintenance in them... and I just don't like it.
The odd part, I LOVE Ubuntu and XP. And, actually, if i could XP to put my start button in the bottom left corner of my screen, with the start bar running vertically up the left side, I'd probably never switch.

Now, what is it that the Macbook Pro has that is worth over $1000 more than a pretty equivalent laptop from Dell or HP. Granted, the 9600 GeForce is gonna spike it, but we're talking MAYBE $400 max.
None of them have Blu-ray, though Dell and HP have the option, which still keeps the price under that of Apple. (Apple doesn't even offer it)
So, what is it exactly that Apple is charging so damn much for? The components are all pretty much the same, excepting the video card.
Now, the Macbook Air I like... but again, it's extremely expensive and it's extremely expensive even compared to other laptops of its class.
They aren't even remotely close in price, your paying much more for the Mac.

As to 'value', that is exactly my point, you said it well there. Purchase price [as what Radek posted] does not equal value - the intangibles + the price paid upfront + the price paid later + satisfaction.
