I downloaded winrar, winzip, and 7zip and every time I try to extract the mp3 files it says that the files are corrupt and sometimes it says something about crc or something like that, that the files are corrupt and then only a few are (like 4 out of 10) able to extract. I had vista before and then changed it to xp now and the problem still occurs. There is nothing wrong with the mp3 files cause I downloaded them in the past and they worked and someone I know downloaded the same files and it works for them and there is nothing wrong with winrar, winzip, or 7zip.

What exactly are you trying to do? What did you download and from where? Are there MP3 files in an archive file? If so, what kind of file?

it's a folder with mp3s that you have to extract using programs like winzip, winrar, 7zip, etc...

Folder contents don't need to be extracted with any program so you must mean something else.

So it's a .rar file? Don't go by what program is associated with the file. Look at the extension. Are you getting errors during the extraction process or when you try to open the resulting files?

I just deleted winrar and the file type that it says is rar. it shows that there are errors while it is extracting, no matter what I use, winrar, winzip, 7zip, it's not the files or the program, I'm sure about that.

Then it sounds like the .rar file is corrupt. It could have been corrupted anywhere along the line or you could have something going on in your computer like a bad piece of memory or a hard drive interface driver corrupting data. The last computer I ever owned with a VIA chipset would do things like that.
