Any 3.5" SATA hard drive will work fine.

Adding an additional harddrive will be easier than replacing the existing drive. If you replace the existing drive you will need to image the old drive onto the new one... there are plenty of tools out there to help with that but be careful.

Then you got the wrong drive. You probably got an ATA/IDE instead of a SATA drive.

I have a four round hole connector and a connector for a flat ribbon connector on my new hard drive. I got this new hard drive for 5.00 dollars at surplus store. It's only a 10 GB drive anyway. So I'm not out of alot of money to find another hard drive.

Thanks, John

Yeah that is an old ATA/IDE drive not a newer model SATA drive... you need SATA.

You can get a new SATA drive in a large size for pretty damn cheap nowadays. Hit up Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more! or Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more and you can find plenty of them to choose from.

Something like this should work,

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500 GB SATA 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Hard Drive ST3500418AS

Amazon.com: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500 GB SATA 16 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Hard Drive ST3500418AS: Electronics

Yes that will work and that walkthru you linked is perfect for installing a secondary drive. This process is relatively quick and painless.
