I may be moving to Waterbury soon, and I'd like some advice on a good neighborhood. I don't have a car, but I walk a lot and take busses, so certain things should be nearby, like a pharmacy. I hear the crime is higher than the usual, and I'm only 5'0, but I stay home more often then I go out, so I'm not too worried about the crime. I will want an apartment complex, not a house, so, any recommendations?

Best neighborhoods are Bunker Hill, Town Plot, Buck's Hill, Upper East End East Main near Frost Road and East Mountain - East Mountain doesn't have much as far as amenities though. Basically the closer you are to downtown, the worse it gets. The crime is not crazy high in Waterbury (it's actually low compared to other cities), but there's a few areas you don't want to be around late at night.

I'd check out Town Plot. Nice walkable area near Kennedy High School, GREAT Italian restaurants and delis, it's own pharmacy and some nice views of the city.

I will piggy back off of what AMSS said. Although it's a city, it's not very walkable. The good neighborhoods are generally away from downtown and they are pretty residential. Town plot is a good example and probably is the best choice for what you are looking for. There are pharmacies, restaurants, grocery stores, close proximity to buses, etc. but there aren't many apartment complexes. The few that I have seen are very meh, not necessarily crime-ridden but kind of just an eyesore. Town plot has a lot of multi-family homes which also get rented out as apartments but they aren't complexes.

Bunker Hill, Buck's Hill and the East End are all pretty nice, but again, very residential (single family homes) and not walkable with amenities.
