Not that I'm technically promoting it. The last time I bet on a team it was the Bills in superbowls 30 years ago. But this...I've never seen anything advertised so aggressively. I don't worry about people losing money in sports gaming but I have to wonder what it might do to the games themselves.

I have been at it for two weeks using Draftkings since when I went to a casino, it was typically Foxwoods, who they are aligned with. I have not had issues with their mobile app. Seems pretty smart actually. It logs you out automatically after a few minutes if you are not using it which I like. Keeps the little one from making a bet by mistake if she grabbed my phone if i was not paying attention. They started up with the login + confirmation number yesterday to get access.

Made a small deposit, and have been slowly running it up. I do not bother with the parlays or the same day fantasy, or things of that nature. Just small bets on moneylines, spread, etc. $10 to win $9. Been playing with "house" money for about a week now. Hoping that i can keep winning at current rate at which point once i have won what I put in, pull that out and always play with house money from then on.

I did find Draftkings moves a bit slower on football sundays, but that is par for the course of any site of that nature.

I have not compared the three different sites to see who gives better odds or better rewards. I am keeping this simple. It is just a way to have some fun.

As for aggressive advertising, it is out there, but no more then companies advertising sex help drugs, or back when brokerages went on-line and they were competing for all those customers, or mortgage companies prior to them going belly up. Still plenty of car commercials too.

All those companies know what % of the population like to gamble on sports. Once they hit that number, they will slow down the commercials. Its money out of their pockets for little return at that point.

I've been using Fanduel, and I'm still using the free money they gave me when I signed up. I've been doing a lot of their promotional bets where they refund up to a certain amount win or lose. I'll continue doing that for a while.

I was told by someone that you can’t bet on Connecticut college games in the state. Is that true? Jay

Only if it’s to win a tournament of 4 or more teams (ie the NCAA or NIT).

Are you sure? I believe the person that told me this wanted to bet on tonight’s UConn game but couldn’t. Jay

That is true for tonight because it was a single game. But if you want to place a futures bet (or one in March) for UConn (or any in-state college) to win the NCAA Tournament, that will be allowed.

Do the Fanduel or Draft Kings app explain what the bets mean? This is something I might want to try out but I don't know what money lines or parlees even are. Even putting $50 on 20 to 1 odds confuses me.

Have you tried the casino portion (like slots?)

Is this something you can do on a computer instead of an app? (I looked on the website and that part was confusing and a little contradictory in places)

Probably because they were playing a cupcake on the schedule. How much was he expecitng to win? a couple bucks

My picks for the week

Take the Falcons tonite to cover against the Pats. Never bet against home dogs

The Jets are home dogs too, take them with Flacco starting

I like the UConn women over the Golden Gophers this weekend. I don't even know the spread

Parlay those winnings and take the Bucs and the points against the Giants monday night
