Hi.

I just read that Charla Nash, the woman who was attacked by the chimp in Stamford, will be on Oprah today at 4pm (channel 3 for Comcast viewers).

I have no intention of watching it. I saw the short video on this web page Victim of Chimp Attack Shows Destroyed Face on Oprah - ABC News and that was plenty for me.

"Nash says she no longer has eyes, eats everything through a straw and can't breathe through her nose. But she says she isn't in pain and often goes for walks." Thank God she's not in pain.

"Nash has no memory of the attack that left her blind, with no hands and a severely damaged face..." Thank God for having no memory of it.

That poor, poor woman. My heart breaks for her.

I'm watching this now (DVR). How sad for this woman. I think I would wish I'd died. I just don't know if I am a strong enough person to deal with something like this. Was the woman with the chimp breaking any laws by having him?

We're on the same page -- I wish I would have died too. She's definitely a strong woman. I guess that having a child gave her the will to live and be positive. I'd shrivel.

It's a great debate whether or not the chimp owner was breaking the law (at that time) for having Travis. It is NOW against the law, I believe.

It is now against the law, but at the time it wasn't. The victim's family is suing the state of Ct. $150 million because it wasn't against the law at that time. It's a terrible tragedy, but I'm not sure they'll win that amount.

There's also a $50 million lawsuit against the chimp's owner. I wish all that money could buy Charla Nash her face, hands, and life back.

I saw a little bit of the interview and was shocked at her composure. I know I couldn't hold it together that well. She is a strong woman and will probably do very well.

no, it won't. I hope she gets enough to pay for the full time care she will need for the rest of her life. Of course, the chimp's owner doesn't have $50 million, probably. Would her homeowners insurance cover something like that??
