Tennessee Tech yesterday swept its doubleheader against Southern Illinois by a combined score of 29-9. Now ranked #21 in the country, Tech has extended its win streak to 25 games, the longest in the nation. If you like baseball, there's still a few home games left this season.

Having lost to 4th ranked Ole Miss on Sunday putting Tech in the losers bracket, Tech had to beat Ole Miss twice yesterday in front of the Ole Miss home crowd in order to advance to the Super Regionals in the NCAA baseball tournament. Tech won the first game 15-5 and came from behind to win the second game 3-2.

No team from the OVC has ever been in the Super Regionals. Tech will next face 13th ranked Texas. Fans are asked to welcome home the team today at 3:30pm at the Tech baseball field.

Yeah, losing that game Sunday to Mississippi was a heartbreaker. It left them with one heck of a hill to climb; tough to win three games in a row. ESPN got me a bit aggravated yesterday evening. Tech leading 3-2, batting in bottom of the 8th with a runner on first and they cut over to the start of a different game!

Looking forward to next weekend against Texas!

Similarly happened to a friend of mine, but I was watching ESPNU and it wasn't interrupted.

They were only showing it on ESPN2 between games of Fl/Fl Atl. Entire game was on ESPNU.
Watching here in NC, my son played travel ball with one of Tech's pitchers and saw him pitch a great game yesterday afternoon. Hope they can beat Texas.
