I missed your post when you originally made it. Texas is generally a low public services state. But the schools are often more compassionate. I don't know that much about the Victoria schools, but I doubt they are completely heartless.

You should contact the school district to see how they can help.

Comparing what I have now to what I had then, the choice was obviously a good one.

Most people have more now then they did when they were growing up, regardless of where they live.

Agreed. For me it took a few decades in Houston area to appreciate the intimate relationships of a small town. Knowing a ton of people (in small hometown) that would rally for you in a time of crisis is worth more than any dollar amount. Although I am happy in suburban Houston, I miss that feeling.

we moved here from Wyoming because my husbands from here......I hate it. The people are awful. All I, hear are sirens and ambulances and people talking bad about each other.......I can not wait to leave. Raising my children here is NOT an option
