None are completely smoke free but some limit smoking to very specific areas that are easy to avoid.

On my last cruise there was only one smoking area, about 8' x 8' in an out of the way nook on the deck. Not a big deal as there were only two smokers on the entire ship.

some lines like Oceana are almost smoke free, but none of the mass marketed lines are. I know many wish there were some, but remember, there are still a lot of smokers out there, especially foreigners. Making a line smoke free would hurt business. We are not talking about a bar or restaurant where someone can just walk outside and enjoy their habit, we are talking about sometimes days at sea. Do you think it would be wise to limit those cruises to non smokers only? Most cabins are now smoke free, many of the bars, certainly the dining rooms and often most of the bars. Some lines have smoke free casinos, the rest have either smoke free areas in the casino or some free nights. Until smoking becomes illegal we all have to learn to compromise...BTW: I am not a smoker, I do see both sides of the issue though.

A few weeks ago, I cruised on the Norwegian Epic. Smoking was allowed in the casino, but the ventilation was so good that I rarely noticed a cigarette odor even when I was right in the center of the casino and saw several people smoking. I detest cigarette smoke, so I was very pleasantly surprised! The ship also had a cigar bar and smoking room, far removed from other public spaces.

Ventilation was excellent throughout the ship.

On most of our cruises it was pretty much the same, smoking in the casino or a special smoke room. On one cruise they let smokers outside in the aft area on one deck only where the wind blew the smoke out to sea.
