Carnival Triumph breaks free in Ala. port

This ship has bad juju. No way I'd every, ever, ever sail her.

Ha! You beat me to it.
I was going to start a thread on this, but it's starting to get boring, posting all of Carnival Corp's mishaps.

Someone on another thread suggested that there might be sabotage. They must pay the crew a pittance. I don't know - one of the mishaps, when the lifeboat broke loose, killed only crew members.

Carnival is giving the entire industry a bad name.

What are you talking about? The lifeboat incident wasn't a Carnival ship. It was a Thompson ship, not even owned by the same company. You are getting pretty ridiculous with your statements on cruising, as you obviously haven't ever been on a cruise, read a cruise contract, and really know nothing about the industry in general.

I highly doubt that what happened with the latest incident was sabotage--there were hundreds of witnesses that said the bad weather was to blame, and the crew isn't even on site. The repairs are being performed by outside contractors.

Default Boycott Carnival

Just boycott this yoyo company. It has sucked millions out of the U.S. and refuses to reimburse the nation for the rescues provided. They don't deserve to be in business.

Quote:
According to Senator Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., the U.S. Coast Guard has responded to 90 "serious events" involving Carnival ships over the past five years, including the rescue of the Carnival Triumph (pictured) in February and the 2010 operation to assist the Carnival Splendor. The Coast Guard and Navy spent $4.2 million to assist the Triumph and Splendor, which were both hit with power failures,
Carnival won't reimburse Uncle Sam for ship rescues- MSN Money

Besides there are more meaningful cruises in smaller ships (although more costly).

Wow. Did I ever hit a nerve. You're right, it was Thompson. I apologize. Sorry I'm alive. You have no idea who I am nor how I spend my spare time and there is no need to get snide.
