Not with this company, but I've taken two cruises with enrichment programs and am taking another with an enrichment emphasis next year. I'm not one to just languish by a pool on vacation, I like to have some mental stimulation and learn something--but in a fun and low key way.
I haven't been on one, but occasionally a very large professional group I participate in takes a cruise and holds a bunch of seminars and classes during the cruise. Meet your internet friends and learn something useful, all while taking a rather cheap vacation.
Sounds good to me. It's even tax deductible; even better.
Unfortunately not all cruises are cheap vacations, and perhaps more than any other type of travel, you really get what you pay for when it comes to cruising.
Looked at Nat Geo cruises, and they are fully educational, non luxurious, and Very Expensive. Probably worth the $$ Though
I prefer luxury and education. Well worth the money.
I haven't sailed with National Geographic/Lindblad, but it's my understanding that some of their ships are so-so while others would fall into the ultra-premium category.
My favorite cruises go to Europe--port days in incredible, historic cities every day. There's not much time for anything but sightseeing.
No I reckon not......... I dunno if I would feel comfortable (safe, etc) being @ sea for any length of time.....
