It is one of the biggest scandals in healthcare in Romania.

However, I wonder if we may have similar problems in our medical and pharmaceutical supply chains but just have not discovered it yet.

We have already have cases of dangerous inclusions in the supplements sold in the US or absence of claimed concentrations of an active ingredients in our medications.(supplements are unregulated by the FDA)

We have had one pharmacy‘s owner in the US going to prison for diluting chemotherapy drugs leading to multiple deaths- so what can we expect from substandard, hard to check by the FDA manufacturing facilities in India, for example. They always know when the FDA inspectors arrive in advance..

In all good faith I definitely can’t trust overseas ( mostly China and India but even the Netherlands ( in the news now) manufacturing of critically important for Americans medications.

No matter who wins the elections- how can we bring the essential manufacturing back on our soil where we can have control and overseeing the manufacturing chain processes locally?

What should be done to start this process?
Am I wrong to think of it as our utmost national defense interests?

Very interesting that the owner of the chemical company is dead, may have committed suicide by driving into a tree at high speed.

We really do not know what is in our meds made over seas. As you said, they know when the FDA is coming.

We've been dealing with med shortages due to COVID with their factories shut down. It would be good if we could manufacture our own meds and OTC's but from what I read, some of the ingredients are only found in certain countries.
