I just happen to learn about this. Wow, it seems the Russians do have the technology to take out things in the sky. How do we expect to win a war against them if we cut our military? This drone was suppose to be invisible to ground radar. If this is the best we got Lord help us.

Nothing is invisible. There are other ways to detect things besides using radar.

Nothing we ever hear about is the best we have.

Perhaps the Russian press is just full of it?

No, U.S. Drones Weren't Shot Down Over Crimea | Popular Science

Russian media has a reputation of being less than objective and truthful. But even if a drone was shot down, so what? They are not using stealth technology and nothing is invisible. Stealth only makes the craft very hard to see. Also, drones usually have a backup fighter escort just in case they are spotted and an attempt is made to shoot them down from what I remember. And who really believes that we would go to war with Russia? Another cold war maybe but nothing more than that.

Most drones are slow, and easy for a modern military to take out. Why the heck were we flying these things over Ukraine?

Our main stream media doesn't always tell the truth either. All (that includes Russia media) of them are guilty of lying even our politicians. However, anything is possible and nothing should be ruled out. Remember, Iran shot down one of our drones before so I wouldn't be surprised if Russia did it as well.

A former KGB officer and black belt martial artist vs a former community organizer...probably not. Obama will just draw another red line in the sand and Putin will listen.

You're right, there's a lot of things the main stream media doesn't report. If they don't who will? Also the US could make Ukraine the 57th state.
