What is the father's game? Did he think he'd be able to fund raise for sympathy? Cash in a life insurance policy? I think he was up to something and don't buy his story. When he was caught on life TV by Nancy Grace one of the first things he said was "Oh, sh1t!" He was hyperventilating. Not thrilled his son was safe, but scared because his game was up. What do you think?
Of course he's up to something. I saw that video. If he were truly genuine about the situation, when he heard his kid was found he would have dashed off that set so fast they never would have seen which way he went to go home. Nancy would have been talking to an empty seat.
I believe I heard he took a lie dectector, and the results were inconclusive. His wife refused to take it.
The cops said there was evidence of bloody clothing down in the basement and blood was found in the boy's room. It was also told that the father beat the son often with a plumber's type pipe. I believe the stepmother was hiding the son from the father, because she knew he was abusive and was afraid of him. I think she was trying to figure out what to do next.
She never took the polygraph test and his came back inconclusive which means he wasn't lying about not knowing where his kid was, but that he was probably guilty of doing other things to him.
Then again, some people are saying that he and the stepmother probably had plans to do away with the kid later when everything died down.

That's exactly what I thought, too. His acting was so bad he deserved a Razzie.
It can't be for real? You mean there was sensationalism on Fox? No way, can't be true.
It was CNN Headline News, Einstein.
