Anyone that defends this guy is either a Moron or a troll. CHP is required to take yearly courses in the interacting and handling of the mentally impaired
You all have no idea what transpired before the filming began. I'm going to presume the officer's force was necessary until it's proven otherwise.
Punching a defenseless woman when she is under your body and your control is absurd.
It's similar to officers that beat a guy after a car chase that knocked out the speeder from the car wreck, 5 officers jumped on the limp body already face down on the ground and started to beat him (his body was thrown out of the window). I guess you would see that as justified?

Yeah, it's really sad that there are people who actually defends such brutal police actions.
It doesn't matter what the woman had done before he assaulted her. At the time of the assault, she was walking away from him -- not a danger to him or to anyone else. I really don't know what his problem was. Maybe the wife denied him sex the night before. Perhaps the victim said to him, "your mamma." Or he has a tiny penis and feels that beating a weaker person makes up for it somehow.
The CHP, his own agency, is investigating. Care to guess what their findings will be?
Thank God for portable video technology. Without the video, this woman would have been just another one of the faceless and nameless victims of police brutality.
Clearly she was a danger to herself and the motorists. He beat the snot out of her for her own good. He should get a promotion, and the keys to the city.
The mistake of a police officer involves his entire department,it's not a job for everyone, if a police officer makes a heroic gesture it will be remembered just for one day but... when he makes a mistake it will be remembered for a lifetime .
" per par condicio " it would be interesting to hear or read the report prepared by the police officer
The family of the woman was interviewed on the news with their lawyer.
Apparently the women has a history of issues and is being held for observation.
She has multiple bruises and swelling on arms and one shoulder.
The story is she was walking on the Freeway and the officer said something which made her turn around and head for traffic.
This is all I could glean for now.
