What an odd situation. Can't figure out from the article exactly what exactly happened in its entirety.

Two fatally shot after van strikes toddler in Milwaukee

Quote:
The 41-year-old driver struck a 2-year-old on the city's northwest side at about 5 p.m. local time on Sunday, a police spokesman said.

The man was shot and killed when he got out of his van to check on the child, who died at the scene, according to authorities. Police said they believe the alleged shooter was provoked by the toddler being struck.

That is odd. Especially when you add in the teenaged brother of the toddler being shot & killed also.

It reminds me of the case a year or so ago where a motorist accidentally struck a young boy who darted in front of his vehicle. The man got out of his vehicle and was brutally attacked by a small mob gathered. The motorist ended up in the hospital in a coma.

So, to recap...

Toddler is allowed to run into street and gets hits by vehicle and dies. Driver stops vehicle to check on toddler, gets shot and dies. Fifteen year old brother of toddler is there either as a passenger, or bystander. He also gets shot and dies. Apparently, three innocent people are dead.

Who was supposed to be watching the toddler?

Why did an idiot just happen to be carrying a gun?

I don't see anyone getting off in self defense on this one.

I'm guessing this was a dad that saw his son die and reacted with violence.

Sad story all around.

Do you have anything factual to base your guess on? In the Detroit case it was just an angry mob looking for trouble. If it was the dad why would he shoot his surviving son? Why lose 2 children the same day? Why wasn't he keeping his 2 year old out of the street?

Guesses don't need facts and that is why they are called guesses. Hello?

I authorized Mack via direct message to speak on my behalf.

But alas, I read the story incorrectly. I thought the 15 year old was in the car with the man who was killed.

Therefore, I rescind my guess but Mack can guess for me if he'd like.
