It seems that the mugging, shooting, whatever crime of the day seems to dominate the Current Events folder so why aren't these in the True Crime forum?

I believe there is one. Scroll down this page to forum jump and True Crime is listed in the drop down menu.

Because the True Crime forum is generally populated by people who want to have a serious discussion about crime, especially unsolved crimes, like the Jon Benet Ramsey case.

Not by people who want to turn every single thread into a thread about race or politics. My last sentence was not directed at anyone in this thread.
