I did not hear much about this case and do not remember seeing it on this forum but I think the outcome is interesting. This guy apparently shot two meth addicts squatting in one of his houses. One died and the other testified against him.

Juries/society care about addicts less than blacks and Hispanics combined.

The only sad thing about this case is there is a DA who would actually bring charges against someone for defending themselves against thugs. Sad the victim was made out to be the criminal here. Good for the jury for handing that pandering DA a complete defeat.

They took a risk when they squatted on his property and it didn't turn out well for them. Bottom line, he had the right to be there, they did not. Jury made the right call IMO.

Breaking into someone's property and confronting them in a threatening manner is dangerous business.

Gunshot wounds are an occupational hazard.

Based on the facts I agree with the outcome. That being said, I'm going to be very disappointed if someone shoots a trespassing dog and people then do become upset, especially if the dog was menacing or even simply pooping on the lawn and if the owner had been asked to deal with the issue but had failed to do so.

The jury got it right. It should never have gone to trial in the first place.

The man went there hoping he'd have a reason to shoot. He got his wish, and probably regrets only not killing both of them and a prosecutor who knew what was going on.
