I guess Americans want to live in a world where nothing bad has ever happened, will happen, or could be portrayed through film, music and or media as having the potential to ever happen.

Ridiculous. Just like the Breaking Bad Walter White action figure they railed about a couple years ago, forcing Toys R Us to stop selling it...these are not toys little children will want, they are made for older Geek collectors. People are ridiculous. The Walter White figure wasn't even in the toy aisle with other action figures, but a special Collectibles section where it had to be asked for, didn't stop parents from trying to disallow anyone to buy it (it came with a bag of meth if I remember correctly).

Sci-fi and Super Hero Comic books and fantasy have always had a very dark and disturbed side, they were never intended to be written for young children.

We should start banning the use of the word slave and anything (products, movies, music, etc...) tied to the word. Better yet, let's come up with a comprehensive list. Slave, war, disease, famine, torture, murder
